The River Waveney is a short walk away. It is an inviting starting point for riverside wandering, birdwatching and exploring the wider Waveney Valley.

Start with coffee and a wander through town, then take in the castle or Fisher Theatre. Follow the river for fresh air, return for a pub lunch or cook something good in the kitchen, and end the day back in your own cosy space.
For a longer break, Bungay makes a useful base for the Broads National Park and day trips into both Suffolk and Norfolk. Local canoe and paddleboard hire offer another way to experience the water.
There is no need for a packed itinerary. The appeal lies in taking your time.
